The Scottish Transport Emissions Partnership (STEP) was formed in 2012 to encourage a more collaborative approach to improving air quality and reducing atmospheric pollution that has been caused by the emissions from road traffic in Scotland’s urban areas. We do this by working with all our members to:
- provide technical support to local authorities, transport operators, the general public and organisations working to improve air quality;
- raise awareness of the issues around poor air quality and its effects on human health;
- provide examples of best practice from the UK and abroad;
- promote well-informed and open debate.
For more information on what we do, please see the Activities tab above.
