The Scottish Urban Air Quality Steering Group (SUAQ SG) worked alongside STEP to deliver improvements in urban air quality in Scotland. The group was made up of representatives from SEPA, Scottish Government, Health Protection Scotland, Transport Scotland, and Glasgow City Council. The SUAQ SG provided strategic direction for air quality work across Scotland by identifying key targets to help achieve air quality improvements, and scoping out actions required to deliver these targets. This includes consideration of communications and resource requirements, as well as defining outcomes for specific work streams including:
- working with health authorities
- improving information on air quality
- supporting development of measures
- legislative and policy review
- Transport Scotland
The Group has been revised and it is now called the CAFS Governance Group.
